Play the African Way. Cheza’s festival brings traditional African sports, music, food, art, heritage and community into a shared festival village. The Legacy Edition celebrates Cheza’s 12-year anniversary and the work of carrying African sporting traditions into the next generation.
The sporting programme spans 11 game families, with competitions and participation layers for corporate companies and communities, schools, universities, individuals, groups and clubs, government bodies and institutions, and families. Confirmed African countries will compete internationally in selected ethnosports.
Eligible winners in selected competitive disciplines can progress through Cheza’s pathway towards representing Uganda at the 2027 international Ethnosport Games and the 2028 TAFISA World Sport for All Games, subject to the respective qualification, selection and participation requirements.
