Azulato Children’s Festival

Aimed at children, this festival curated by Goethe-Zentrum Kampala/ German Uganda Cooperation
focuses on play, learning, art, skilling and cultural sports, providing young ones with opportunities for physical activity, cultural education, and social interaction.Cheza is a proud partner of the Azulato Festival Series since 2022.

Children learn through participation

Cheza’s contribution connects traditional African games with the festival’s wider focus on play, art, learning and cultural exchange. Sporting activities offer children an opportunity to move, interact and discover familiar and new forms of play.

Cheza’s role in a partner-led festival

Azulato is curated by Goethe-Zentrum Kampala/German Uganda Cooperation. Cheza participates as a partner, bringing its traditional sports focus into the wider children’s programme.

Heritage made accessible

The purpose is to make cultural games something children can experience directly. Play can provide a starting point for conversations about teamwork, creativity and the traditions shared between generations.
